Academic Editors at QualityEdits hold either a doctoral degree or a Master’s degree (or both) from an accredited university. Many have earned their degrees from Carnegie Classification Research 1 and Research 2 level universities and institutes. They are knowledgeable and experienced professionals and academics who value quality, attention to detail, and academic writing and research in general. We endeavor as much as possible to match your document or manuscript with an Academic Editor in your field of study or a closely related discipline.
It is not uncommon for a college or university professor to refer a student to a supplemental support service such as a campus writing center. Many even refer their students to professional editors. For example, graduate students completing doctoral degrees find that high quality academic editing is a condition of acceptance of their dissertation by their doctoral committee. Our Statement of Academic Integrity aligns with accepted and universal practices of ethical scholarship and research. Our academic editors make edits to the writing in your document or manuscript (that you either accept or reject); they will not compose writing nor do any research on your behalf. We do, however, offer a writing coaching service under The QE Consult if you need support around honing your voice and style as an academic writer and researcher in general. Check out our Services page for more information.
We highly recommend our all-inclusive Signature Service for editing such high-stakes academic writing as your dissertation. It allows for one (1) free revision of your edited dissertation within thirty (30) days of its delivery to you (it must have the same verified word count). You may use this opportunity to have us review any minor change made to the edited dissertation. Any subsequent revisions to the dissertation beyond the one (1) free revision will require an additional fee and your signature on a new academic editing services agreement. Please note also that QualityEdits is not responsible for any changes you make to your document or manuscript after your services agreement with us has been fulfilled.
Our Signature Service is all-inclusive and it does include formatting. However, we do also offer a Formatting Only service. Please visit our Services page for a full description.
Our academic editing services (Signature Service, Copyediting Only, and Formatting Only) are priced per-word. Our consultation services (The QE Consult for writing coaching and thesis/dissertation defense coaching) are priced at an hourly rate.
The Price-Per-Word Calculator is provided as a tool on our website for estimating the cost of your academic editing project. The word count for the document or manuscript you submit for editing work will be verified using Microsoft Word. Your document or manuscript will be evaluated to determine if light, medium, or heavy editing is needed. Work on your project begins immediately after your signature on an academic editing services agreement (the verified word count and other details will be outlined in the agreement and the invoice). In the unlikely event that there is a word count discrepancy, you will be contacted, whereupon the cost difference must be paid before the academic editing work will continue.
You will specify the manual of style required for editing your academic work as well as any specific guidelines per your college/university/institution. Currently, we specialize in APA, Chicago, and MLA. We intend to add more manuals of style to our repertoire, such as those used in medicine and law, and we will update our website, services agreements, etc. accordingly. We encourage you to check back often for applicable updates.
Your edited document or manuscript will be delivered electronically and securely via our client relationship management portal. You will receive further details in this regard after agreeing to and signing an academic services agreement with us.
Academic editing projects requiring Rush Delivery are subject to an additional charge, which will be reflected in the academic editing services agreement and the invoice.
We know and understand that some universities and institutions, namely those outside of the United States, require their students to provide a Certificate of English Editing for major papers, theses, dissertations, or other documents and manuscripts. Our Signature Service, because it is all-inclusive and highly recommended for such high-stakes academic editing projects, does provide for a Certificate of English Editing upon request.
Your engagement of our academic editing and consultation services is confidential. We will not provide unauthorized access to your academic work. Furthermore, we encourage you to read or review our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
Yes! We run several annual promotions. We invite you to visit our website often or follow us on social media to be sure to take advantage of coupon codes and discounts when they are announced.
